Hon’ble Dr Justice D Y Chandrachud (Born on 11th November, 1959) is an alumnus of Faculty of Law, Delhi University (Bachelor of Laws) and also of Harvard Law School (Master of Laws and Doctorate in Juridical Science).
His Lordship is also a winner of the Joseph H. Beale Prize in Harvard.
Before being elevated as the Judge of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, His Lordship had been the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, Judge of Bombay High Court and Additional Solicitor General of India.
Since the elevation of His Lordship to the Hon’ble Supreme Court, His Lordship has played an instrumental role in the Technological Advancement of the Court Proceedings, and also in the passing of Landmark Judgments. His Lordship became Chief Justice of India on 8th November 2022.
